History

Providing a quality service and efficiency to the population of Porto Alegre is the main goal of companies that operate in urban transportation. In the mid-90, Porto Alegre pioneered the implementation of the Consortia, and the system is divided into three zones, grouping companies in the same region.

In 1997, companies from Southern and Eastern Consortium formed the Unibus. From this group, the planning and operation of companies: Southeast, Petrópolis High Traffic, Traffic Presidente Vargas, Estoril and Gazometro became unified with a single identity for our clients. Composed of these five companies, the Consortium operates a total of 390 vehicles and carries an average of 7 million passengers a month.

Thus, from 2006 the Consortium Unibus and consortium partners were included in the social area, through the Social Responsibility Award of the Legislative Assembly of Rio Grande do Sul
